Cajero, Aaron
Pottery is “an expression of how I feel about beauty in nature. I create Native American arts and crafts using all natural materials.”
Born in May, 1966, Aaron Cajero Sr. is a potter from Jemez Pueblo. His parents were Esther and Joe Cajero Sr. His grandparents were John and Loretta Cajero and Joe and Juana Pecos. He learned how to make pottery through watching and working with his parents, then with his wife, Anita Cajero, later on. In between he earned a BA in physical education/coaching/administration/health and worked in that field for years.
Aaron is known for making stone-polished bowls, jars and seed pots. His favorite designs to carve seem to include bears, eagles and feathers. Over the years he’s earned a number of Blue Ribbons at Santa Fe Indian Market for his work.
