Honyumptewa, Aaron

Aaron Honyumptewa is 1/2 Hopi and 1/2 Picuris. Most of his art work has centered around carving Hopi katsinas, but he then moved to his mother’s home at Picuris Pueblo and learned how to make Picuris-style pottery from her. Generally, he makes micaceous pottery figures that are based on his visions for carving katsinas.
