Lopez, Abel

One of the sons of Leonel Lopez Sr. and Elena Rodriguez, Abel Lopez is also a potter from the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Mexico. After learning how to make and decorate pottery from his folks as he grew up, he specialized in creating polychrome sgraffito wildlife and natural desert vegetation designs on white-body jars.
