Vallo, Adrian

Adrian Vallo was born into Acoma Pueblo in 1964. He said he was about 20 years old when his grandmother, Santana Cerno, lit the fire that inspired him to make pottery. She taught him the basics of the traditional Acoma way. Adrian likes to make large polychrome jars and decorate them with parrots, deer and geometric designs.

Among Adrian’s relatives are Barbara and Joseph Cerno (aunt and uncle), Eva Histia (grandmother) and Ergil Vallo (aka Dalawepi, cousin).
