Nahsonhoya, Agnes

Agnes Nahsonhoya is a Hopi potter. She was born at the Keams Canyon IHS hospital in 1956 to Justin and Pauline Setalla. Her family was from Sichomovi but she was raised on a ranch in Snowbird Canyon. She learned how to make pottery through watching her mother, her aunt, Eunice Navasie, and grandmother, Agnes Navasie, as she was growing up. She, in turn, taught her son, Derek Nahsonhoya, how to make pottery as he was growing up.
