Puhuhefvaya, Alice
Alice Puhuhefvaya was a Hopi-Tewa potter. She lived most of her life in Polacca, the village where Nampeyo of Hano‘s brother, Tom Polacca, settled at the foot of First Mesa. Several other cross-cultural families settled in Polacca, too. Alice was married to Hopi silversmith Fernando Puhuhefvaya. Ira, Clauson and Malcomb Puhuhefvaya, their children, grew up learning to make pottery from Alice but went into other professions after they graduated from high school.
