Lowden, Anita

Anita Garcia Lowden was the first daughter of Acoma Pueblo pottery matriarch Jessie Garcia. She was born in the 1930s and passed away young, in the 1970s.

Anita primarily painted Anasazi– and Mimbres-Revival designs on black-on-white and traditional polychrome bowls, jars, plates, vases and canteens. She made a few turtle effigies, too.
