Fragua, Ardina
Born into Jemez Pueblo in October, 1980, Ardina Fragua is the daughter of Felicia Fragua. Her maternal grandmother is Grace L. Fragua and her maternal grandmother is Emilia Loretto. She learned how to make pottery through watching and working with her mother as she was growing up. By the time she was a teenager, she was selling her pieces beside her mother’s.
Ardina makes mostly polychrome tanware bowls, jars and figures, decorating them with traditional kiva step, terraced clouds, rain symbols, children and turtles.
