Quezada, Arturo
Arturo Quezada Olivas is the next-to-youngest son of Juan and Guillermina Quezada. Like his siblings, he grew up watching and helping as his folks made, decorated and fired pottery.
Today, Arturo has earned a reputation for producing some of the largest and finest jars made in Mata Ortiz. He likes to decorate them with intricate sgraffito and painted designs, sometimes in the Quezada style (with lots of open space), sometimes in the Porvenir style (where there is little open space). In 2018, Arturo earned a First Place prize at the annual Concurso Ceramica de Mata Ortiz for one of his sgraffito designs.
