Nampeyo, Augusta

Born into the Hopi-Tewa Corn clan, Augusta Poocha Nampeyo was a daughter of Nellie Nampeyo Douma, granddaughter of Nampeyo of Hano. Her mother didn’t make much pottery so Augusta learned how to make pottery by watching and working with her grandmother and other relatives as she grew up.
