Suina, Aurelia
Aurelia Suina was born into Cochiti Pueblo in October, 1911. She passed on in 1997. She was active from the 1930s into the 1970s, making polychrome jars, bowls, owl figures, nativities and storytellers.
Aurelia was one of the potters included in the 1979 “One Space: Three Visions” exhibit at Albuquerque Museum. Her work is also in the collections of the Peabody Museum of Harvard College, the University of New Mexico and the Laboratory of Anthropology of the Museum of New Mexico in Santa Fe.
Ada Suina is Aurelia’s daughter-in-law.
