Naranjo, Betty
The daughter of Elizabeth Naranjo and Ernest Naranjo of Santa Clara Pueblo, Betty Naranjo was born in 1956. She learned how to make pottery the ages-old way: by watching and working with her mother and grandmother, Pablita Chavarria, as she was growing up.
Betty started making pottery around 1970. She was a participant in the Santa Fe Indian Market from 1985 to 1999, earning several ribbons for her miniatures and sets. Some of those ribbons were earned by collaborations with her husband, Robert, and daughter, Beth.
