Tsethlikai, Brian

Brian Tsethlikai is a potter from Zuni Pueblo. He was born in 1958, which would have put him at Zuni High School when Jennie Laate was teaching the pottery classes. Brian and his significant other, Yvonne Nashboo, say they were inspired by Phil Hughte, one of their High School instructors to learn to hand coil pottery. So they did.

Since about 1995 Brian and Yvonne have been producing award-winning pottery in ancient Zuni shapes and painted with ancient Zuni designs. Most of their work has a lizard theme to it. They chose the lizard because the lizard brings good luck.
