Lesso, Cecilia

Cecilia Lesso (1906-1980) was a Pima woman who married Wesley Lesso, one of Nampeyo of Hano‘s sons. Cecilia and Wesley had met while they were students at the Phoenix Indian Boarding School. Once married, she moved to his home at Tewa Village and learned how to make Hopi pottery through watching and working with his mother and his sisters. It was at Wesley and Cecilia’s home that Nampeyo passed on in 1942.
