Lewis, Charles

Born in 1972, Charles Lewis is the son of Susan Roller Tafoya and grandson of Toni Roller. He grew up in a household at Santa Clara Pueblo where someone was making or painting or carving pottery almost morning, noon and night.

When he was 18 Charles earned Second and Third Place ribbons in the Student Division at Santa Fe Indian Market for blackware and redware pieces he made. That led to participation in the Santa Fe Indian Market and the Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Arts & Crafts Show through the 1990s. Then he stopped competing and no longer makes pottery.
