Peesha, Clara
Clara Peesha (1926-2002) was a Hopi potter from the village of Sichomovi. She started producing pottery for the marketplace around 1960 and made pottery almost to the day she passed. She primarily made redware bowls, miniatures and black-and-red-on-yellow jars.
Clara was a regular exhibitor for years at the Museum of Northern Arizona’s “Hopi Show” and the museum has several pieces of hers in their collections.
