Veloz, Claudia

Claudia Duran de Veloz is a potter from the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Mexico. She is married to Martin Veloz and learned how to make pottery from his mother, Carmen Veloz. Unlike her mother-in-law, though, Claudia mostly works with sgraffito designs on black and white pots. In 2010, Claudia was also employed as a middle school teacher.
