Quezada, Damian
Damian Quezada is a nephew of Juan Quezada Sr.. He didn’t grow up in Mata Ortiz, he moved to Nuevo Casas Grandes in 1992 and began to learn with his uncle, Nicolas Quezada, and cousin, Oscar Gonzales Quezada (the son of Consolacion Quezada).
Damian’s wife, Elvira Antillon de Quezada, usually forms his pots of white or pink clay. Then he paints Paquimé Revival polychrome designs in the Quezada style. He also likes to divide his patterns into five, six and eight sections of identical repetitions around a pot. He paints exclusively with red and black mineral oxide paints, like his famous uncle.
Ana Trillo is Damian and Elvira’s daughter, Adrian Corona their grandson.
