Loya, Diana

Diana Loya is a potter from the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Mexico. Like her husband, Alfredo Freddy Rodriguez, she enjoys making sgraffito nature, wildlife and Day of the Dead designs on black-on-white pottery.

Diana and Alfredo taught their son, Emiliano, to make pottery and he is following in their footsteps, although he uses different motifs in his black-on-white designs.
