Gutierrez, Dorothy

Dorothy Gutierrez was the wife of Paul Gutierrez of Santa Clara Pueblo. She was born and grew up on the Navajo Nation but moved to Paul’s home at Santa Clara after they were married.

Working with Paul, she learned how to make pottery figures. Together, they made a niche for themselves making matte-and-polished black and red figures.
