Tafoya, Douglas

Born into Santa Clara Pueblo in 1942, Douglas Tafoya is the son of Mary Cain, grandson of Christina Naranjo. He grew up in a pottery making household and was exposed to every aspect of the process as he was growing up.

True to the family tradition, Doug produced redware and black, highly polished and usually very precisely carved with an avanyu or a geometric design.
