Lopez, Edwardo

Edwardo Lopez is a second generation potter from the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Chihuahua, Mexico. For a while he specialized in making black-on-black pottery using a portfolio of Paquimé Revival designs. Then he switched to making polychrome jars, usually painted with angular, interlaced spiral designs that dazzle the eyes.
