Antonio, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Antonio was a potter from Acoma Pueblo. Very little is recorded about her. She is not mentioned by Dr. Schaaf but she does have a one-line listing in Lanmon & Harlow. Asking Randy and Frederica Antonio yielded that Elizabeth was most likely the sister of Santana (Chavez) Antonio, Randy’s paternal grandmother. Santana lived from 1905 to 2004, making pottery through most of her life. Elizabeth likely did the same, although she seems to have signed very few of her pieces.
