Chino, Emmalita

Emmalita (Charlie) Chino was born into Acoma Pueblo in June 1931. Her mother was Margaret Charlie. She became an active potter as a teenager, after learning how to make pottery from Marie Z. Chino. She even married Marie’s son Patrick. Emmalita, in turn, passed her knowledge on to her own daughters, Monica Chino and Brenda Charlie.

Emmalita participated in numerous art shows in New Mexico, Arizona and Utah, winning more than few ribbons for her work.
