Hopi potter Emogene Lomakema
Emogene Lomakema (1901-1999) was a Hopi potter from the village of Walpi on First Mesa. She became an active potter around 1950 and mostly made black-on-white, black-on-red and black-and-red-on-yellow Sikyátki-Revival ware. Her favorite designs included parrots and other bird elements.

Some of Emogene’s work is in the collection of the Museum of Northern Arizona.
