Naranjo, Fidel and Tonita

Fidel and Tonita Naranjo were a husband-and-wife team of potters from Santa Clara Pueblo. They primarily produced carved blackware jars, canteens and bowls. Fidel’s mother was Madeline Naranjo and he learned all the aspects of making pottery through watching and helping her as he grew up. Tonita learned from Fidel.
