Corona, Gabriela

Gabriela Corona is a potter from the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Mexico. She is a younger sister of Vidal Corona and Jorge Corona. She’s married to Lila Silveira‘s youngest brother (perhaps Trinidad?). She’s been influenced by several distinct styles and has forged a style of her own.

Gabriela mostly makes small seed pots with lids. She decorates them with contemporary sgraffito-and-painted designs of various animals, butterflies and birds.
