Poncho, Gertrude

Gertrude Poncho is a potter from Acoma Pueblo. She uses a lot of sgraffito designs on Acoma pottery. She signs her pieces with her Keres name, “Shdiya’aitsa”, which means “Purple Flowers”. Some of her pieces are slip ware, meaning “made in a mold.”
