Yepa, Ida

Born into the Toya family of Jemez Pueblo in an Albuquerque hospital in April 1951, Ida Yepa is the sister of Lorraine Chinana and Georgia Vigil. Like them, she learned to make pottery by watching and working with their grandmother, Reyes Shendo Toya. Ida, in turn, taught her award-winning daughter, Emma Yepa, how to make pottery, too.
