Trevizo, Irma

Irma Trevizo de Ledezma is a potter from the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Mexico. She’s the wife of Antonio Ledezma and mother of Sigifredo Ledezma.

Irma does mostly sgraffito designs on black-on-white or red-on-white jars, Her designs usually incorporate lizards, turtles, birds, animals or ants with a mesh background.
