Suazo, Jason White Eagle

Jason “White Eagle” Suazo is the son of Anita Suazo and grandson of Belen Tapia. He says he was inspired by his mother to continue the tradition of making pottery at Santa Clara Pueblo. He learned how through watching and working with his mother. Jason now specializes in the carved redware and blackware that Santa Clara potters are famous for.

Jason is married to fellow potter Lahoma Suazo. They have been making pottery for more than 40 years. They usually collaborate on their pieces and have earned many awards together.
