Nahohai, Jaycee
Jaycee Nahohai is the son of Randy Nahohai and Rowena Him Nahohai, grandson of Josephine Nahohai. He grew up in the presence of some of Zuni’s finest potters. He also grew up at a time when there were some excellent teachers in the ceramics program at Zuni High School.
In 2001 Jaycee earned the Second Place award at the Zuni Marketplace of the Museum of Northern Arizona in the Young Potter division.
Jaycee was producing traditional polychrome jars, bowls, owls and seed pots with traditional designs when he finished high school but later he moved into more contemporary designs incorporating multiple colors and micaceous clay slips.
