Silveira, Jesus Octavio

Jesus Octavio Silveira is a potter from the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Mexico. He’s Octavio “Tavo” Silveira‘s son. He learned how to make pottery through watching and working with his father. He collaborates sometimes with his father and they both sign those pieces.

In 2018, Jesus earned the Galardon (Best in Show) at the annual Concurso Ceramica de Mata Ortiz. In 2019, he earned the Award of Excellence at the Concurso. In 2020, he earned the Second Place prize for a traditional color pot, with or without design.
