Aragon, John F
The grandson of Lupe Aragon and son of Florence Aragon, John F. Aragon was born into Acoma Pueblo in November 1962. He grew up learning how to make pottery through watching and working with his mother, grandmother and aunt, Rachel Aragon. He sometimes collaborated with his mother and with Rachel later in life.
John liked to make polychrome jars and bowls and decorate them with Acoma parrots and Mimbres-Revival insects, birds and animals.
John was a participant in the Santa Fe Indian Market for years, winning Best of Division and multiple First and Second Place ribbons. He also participated in the Gallup InterTribal Ceremonial for years, winning a Best in Category and more First and Second Place ribbons. He won more ribbons at the New Mexico State Fair.
