Cerno, Joseph Jr

Joseph Cerno Jr. was born into Acoma Pueblo in May 1972. He’s the son of Barbara and Joseph Cerno Sr. He said he learned how to make pottery from his father and grandmother. Joseph mostly makes large jars and decorates them with polychrome rainbows, parrots, leaves, flowers and geometric patterns.
At the 1990 Santa Fe Indian Market, Joseph earned some ribbons in the Youth Division: Class. VII – student 18 years and younger, Overall Prize, Div. A – Ages 13-18, Overall Prize, and Cat. 2809 – Pottery, First Place.
