Rodriguez, Juan Carlos

Juan Carlos Rodriguez is a potter from the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Mexico. He is Eduardo and Jorge Quintana‘s half-brother. He learned how to make pottery by hanging around with his nephews, Martin and Jesus Quintana.

Sgraffito-and-painted designs on polychrome jars are a hallmark of the Quintana family but Juan Carlos has taken their ideas in a different direction and made his own unique designs.
