Garcia, Juana
Juana (Garcia) Garcia (c.1890-1988) was one of the old-time potters at Acoma Pueblo. Juana learned how to make pottery through watching and working with her mother, Lupe Garcia, as she was growing up.
Juana married Jose Antonio Garcia and their children included Henry, James, David, Raymond, Santiago, Thomas, Jessie, and Margaret Seymour.
Juana made traditional Acoma polychrome jars, bowls, ollas and vases.
