Keene, Juanita

Juanita Keene was the daughter of Teofila and Antonio Torivio. She learned how to make pottery through growing up in a pottery-making household. Among her siblings were Frances Pino Torivio, Katherine Analla, Mamie Ortiz, Lolita Concho and Concepcion Garcia.

Juanita was known for making traditional Acoma polychrome jars and bowls. She passed her skills and knowledge on to her award-earning daughter, Adrienne Roy Keene.
