Lewis, Kevin

Kevin Lewis is the son of Patricia Lewis and grandson of Ivan Lewis and Rita Lewis of Cochiti Pueblo. He had his hands in the clay early in life, learning how to make polychrome jars, bowls, storytellers, bighorn rams and other figures.

In 1989 Kevin appeared at the Santa Fe Indian Market and won First Place and Third Place ribbons for Figures in the ages 12-and-under category. In 1990 he won another First Place ribbon in the ages 12-and-under category at Santa Fe with another pottery figure. He showed at the Heard Museum, too, as a Student Artist in 1989, 1990 and 1991. Then he seems to have disappeared from the marketplace.
