Suazo, Lahoma
Born into Santa Clara Pueblo in 1971, Lahoma Suazo is the wife of Jason White Eagle Suazo. Jason is the son of Anita Suazo and he learned how to make pottery from her. Lahoma learned from Jason.
Jason and Lahoma have been making pottery together for more than 40 years, producing the carved red and black ware that Santa Clara is famous for. They’ve earned several ribbons for their work at the annual Eight Northern Pueblos Arts and Crafts Show.
Jason and Lahoma’s son Cyrus produced his first pinch pot when he was three-and-a-half years old. He was already interested and had been paying attention.
