Quezada, Laura
From the village of Mata Ortiz, Laura Quezada is one of Juan Quezada Sr.‘s daughters. She learned how to make pottery directly from him. Juan taught all his children to make pottery so that they might possibly never have financial problems in their lives.
At first, Laura’s pottery was very similar to her father’s. Then she learned Eli Navarette‘s process for painting multi-colored designs on glossy black graphite pots and her creativity went in that direction.
