Tomosie, Laura

Laura Tomosie ( -1981) was the sister of Grace Chapella. Grace taught her how to make pottery the traditional Hopi-Tewa way.

Laura was an active potter from about 1930 to 1968. She mostly made yellow jars and bowls and red bowls, ladles, bowls with handles, tiles and miniature bowls. Her favorite designs included honeybees, clouds and thunderbirds. She painted them in traditional red and black.
