Vallo, Leland Robert

Leland Robert Vallo was born into Acoma Pueblo in October 1969 and passed on in 2018. His parents were Simon and Marie Vallo, his maternal grandmother was Gladys Garcia. Kim Vallo was his sister, Shawna Garcia-Rustin was his cousin.

Lee earned a string of First and Second Prize ribbons in the late 1990s at the New Mexico State Fair. He made traditional black-on-white and polychrome jars, bowls, wedding vases and seed pots, but he also sometimes painted greenware. Among his favorite designs for decorations were Tularosa spirals and Mimbres-Revival animals and motifs.
