Garcia, Lena

Born into Santa Ana Pueblo in 1924, Lena Garcia didn’t learn to make pottery until she took some classes offered at Santa Ana by Eudora Montoya and Nancy Winslow. That was in the 1970s. Lena was still making pottery as of 1996 but no word after that.

Diane Menchego, one of the last few potters at Santa Ana, is Lena’s niece.
