Manygoats, Louise

Louise Manygoats is one of the daughters of Betty Manygoats (Betty and William Manygoats raised 8 daughters and 1 son). Like her sisters and brother, she learned how to make pottery from their mother as she was growing up. It helped that they lived in the Shonto/Black Mesa area of the Navajo Nation and many of their neighbors were potters, too. There’s hardly any information available about Louise but she made typical Navajo brown jars and wedding vases and decorated them similarly to her mother. Louise was never as prolific as her sister Elizabeth.
