Ortiz, Luis

Luis Ortiz is a potter from the village of Mata Ortiz in northern Mexico. Luis is mentioned in the book “The Miracle of Mata Ortiz” as one of the earlier potters in the village. His work is mostly of the Paquimé Revival sort: based on the shapes of ancient pots made in the 1300s and 1400s CE and decorated with equally prehistoric designs.
