Ramirez, Luz Elva

Luz Elva Ramirez de Lopez is a potter from the Mata Ortiz area in northern Mexico. She learned how to make pottery from her husband, Edmundo Lopez. Like Edmundo, she seems to prefer making black graphite jars and decorate them with matte black Paquimé Revival designs. She also makes black jars with melon bases. She almost never makes anything that is more than five inches in any dimension, she leaves the bigger sizes to her husband.
