Mutz, Mae
Mae Mutz was a Hopi potter who lived from 1922 to 1998. She was from the village of Sichomovi on First Mesa but lived in Polacca for most of her life. She was active in the marketplace from about 1960 to 1983 when she suffered a stroke and was unable to continue making pottery. Most of the pottery she made was of the Sikyátki-Revival style and she decorated it with her own versions of those prehistoric designs. She was noted for her use of blank space and for her bowls. She also made some corrugated redware.
