Stevens, Manuel

Manuel Stevens is a potter from Acoma Pueblo. He learned how to make pottery while he was growing up, watching and working with his mother, Rose Stevens, and his grandmother, Lolita Garcia. Among his siblings are noted potters Sharon Stevens and Virginia Garcia (not the Virginia Garcia of Santa Clara/San Juan fame).

Manuel made mostly jars, bowls and seed pots, decorating them usually with geometric designs.
