Quezada, Martha

Martha Martinez Renteria de Quezada of Mata Ortiz is the wife of Mauro Corona Quezada and daughter-in-law of Consolacion Quezada. Among her children is Abelina Corona.

Working with different members of the Quezada family, Martha learned to produce all different kinds of pottery including black-on-black, sgraffito and Quezada-style Paquimé Revival reproductions.

In the 2013 Desert Museum “Women Potters of Mata Ortiz” competition she earned the Second Place prize in the Colored Clay/Polychrome Paint category.

Martha usually signs her pieces as Martha M. de Quezada.
